It is possible to just update specific fields with an import, such as 'Price' or 'Stock level', and leave the other fields alone.
Note: These instructions are based on Importing From A Standard Spreadsheet.
3. To begin with, turn off auto-generation of product references (in 'Business Settings | Options') if it is not turned off already. See Product References. This means you will be using your own defined product references.
4. Begin importing the file containing the new data, ensuring you select the 'Update' import option rather than 'Replace'.
5. When you reach the mapping screen, map the following fields:
· Section text
· Product reference
6. And then map the fields that you want to update. For example:
· Price
· Stock in Hand
7. Complete the import.
This will simply update your existing data with the new prices contained in the import file, and leave the rest of the product/section fields alone.
