The 'Design | Deploy Partial Site Design' option allows you just to export certain design elements, and not export any order or content information.
When you go to 'Design | Deploy Partial Site Design', it is similar to exporting a standard snapshot, in that you have to specify an *.acd file name, but then you have the following steps to complete:
1. First you have to enter a description for the design. This will appear when the design is imported. Click 'Next' to continue.
2. You will then be able to select the library layouts you want to include in the export. If you are only exporting one or two layouts, click 'Select None' and then select the layouts you want to export from the tree. Click 'Next' to continue.
3. Next you need to select the variables and layout selectors to include in the export. Again, if you are only exporting one or two variables/selectors, click 'Select None' and then select the variables/selectors you want to export from the tree. Click 'Next' to continue.
4. Next you can select any conditions (from the 'Conditions' tab of the library) you want to export. Click 'Next' to continue.
5. Next, if the design you are exporting is based around content categories, you can select the content categories required to support the design. Click 'Next' to continue.
6. Next you can select any extra tabs for export that you have created to support this design. Click 'Next' to continue.
7. Finally, select any extra files to export that are required to support the design.
You can then start the deployment. This will create an *.acd file where you have specified, containing the design data.
