The 'Mail' Tab - Managing The Customer Emails

To view the details of an order, double-click on it in the order summary (or highlight it and press 'View Order').

The 'Mail' tab is where you can view the orders sent out to the customer regarding this order. You can also edit emails before they are sent, and create new emails. The main list contains all the emails that have been generated for the order. The icons show whether they have been sent, whether they are pending, whether they are on hold and whether there is a problem with them.

The buttons within this tab are as follows:

Action

New.

Create a new email message. This starts up the 'Mail' window, which is described in Creating Emails In Actinic.

Edit.

Edit the currently selected message. This opens up the 'Mail' window, which is described in Creating Emails In Actinic.

Delete

Delete the currently selected message. A deleted message is marked with a red cross. You can remove it permanently by going to 'Housekeeping | Purge | Purge Emails'.

Hold

Hold the currently selected message. You will not be able to send this message until you click 'Unhold'. Held messages are marked with a padlock.

Send All

Send all emails for this order that have not been sent yet, and are not held or deleted.

Send

Send the currently selected message.

Sent emails are marked with a tick.

All outstanding emails for all orders can be sent in one go by pressing the   button on the main toolbar or by going to 'Operations | Send Emails'.

There are also two menu options available. 'Operations | List Emails | Failed' and 'Operations | List Emails | All'. The former shows those emails that failed during transmission. The latter shows all emails.

Note: If there is a problem sending an email, it will be marked with a red question-mark.
