Proxy servers are often used to allow several PC users to access the Internet via a single entry point. Thus, one PC dials up an ISP and the proxy server running on this PC allows other users on the network to access the Internet via this one line. These servers vary in complexity and have different access mechanisms. They can also exist at the point of entry on the ISP's server. If so, your ISP should tell you.
You can configure Actinic to work with a proxy server by clicking the 'Proxy' button in 'Web | Network Setup'.
· HTTP Proxy - The proxy server used by your web browser to view web pages.
· FTP Proxy - The proxy server used by your PC when connecting via FTP to a web server.
