The 'Page Layouts' tab within 'Design| Themes (Advanced Theme Configuration)' contains the overall layouts that are available to choose from for your store.
An overall layout contains all the design elements that go around the outside of your 'page body' (i.e. the content that changes from page to page). It controls the elements of your store design that stay the same, no matter what page you are on.
A more general explanation of layouts can be found in What Is A Layout?.
The overall layout generally contains the following:
· Logo Image
· Store or Brochure Navigation Bar
· Top Level Section List
· New Product List
· Best Seller List
· Shopping Cart Summary
· Simple Search Bar
The elements that are included can vary from layout to layout.
The grid in this tab contains the following layout options:

Only for advanced users of Actinic.
Click the 'Advanced Page Configuration' button on this tab.
This window lists all the different page types down the left hand side of the table (see Editing Other Actinic Pages for more details about these pages). This window is used to give you control over which layout selectors are used to provide the 'Overall Page Layout' and the 'Inner Page Layout' for each type of page.
The 'Inner Page Layout' is just another way of talking about the content of the page.
The first column - 'Outer Layout Selector' - shows which overall page layout selectors are used for the different pages. These layout selectors appear within the 'Layout' tab of 'Site Options', where they allow you select the overall page layouts for the different types of pages.
You can change the outer layout selector value for each type of page. For example, if you change the 'Login' page to 'StandardLayout', it will mean that the login page now uses whatever you select in the 'Overall Page Layout' for its overall page layout.
The second column - 'Inner Layout Selector' - controls what sort of page content should be inserted into each type of page. You should only change it if, for example, you want the 'Contact Us' page to become another 'Terms and Conditions' page.
