Note: A description of snapshots is in Backing Up Your Online Store.
To import a snapshot, go to 'File | Snapshot | Import Site'.
This starts the 'Importing a site' Wizard. This wizard will allow you to select the file to import, and also specify where you want to back up your current data. The process of importing a snapshot is as follows:
1. In the first screen of the wizard, read the information and click 'Next'.
2. In the second screen of the wizard, read the information and click 'Next'.
3. In the third screen of the wizard, click 'Browse' to locate the snapshot you are wanting to import. The default folder that Actinic looks in is the 'SiteBackups' folder within the 'Actinic v8' folder. Locate the snapshot, select it and click 'Open'.
4. Click 'Next' to continue.
5. On the fourth screen of the wizard, you receive a summary of the contents of the snapshot. There is also a checkbox labelled 'Overwrite All Orders in Target Installation'. Select this box if you want to overwrite your current orders with the orders contained in the snapshot. Click 'Next' when ready.
6. On the fifth screen of the wizard, Actinic will ask you where you want to create a backup of your current site. This is standard ZIP file called 'OverwrittenSite.zip' which, by default, will be created in the 'SiteBackups' folder within the 'Actinic v8' folder. Click 'Browse' to select an alternative location to create this file in.
7. Click 'Next' to continue, and then click 'Next' again to start the snapshot import.
When the snapshot is imported (or the import stops for any reason) you will receive a summary report. If there are any warnings or errors, click the 'Detail' button to see the details.
Note: If you receive an error that says something like "Library error - Can not open file [path name]\ActinicCatalog.mdb ! has been caught." then try closing Actinic. Then re-open it and try importing the snapshot again.
Click 'Finish' to close the wizard.
