Content List Overview

A 'content list' is used when you need to add several of the same item into the design.  For example, one of your sections may contain 10 products, and another one might contain 20 products. A list is used to ensure that the products in both sections will be both be inserted into the design correctly. All the items you see within the content tree on the 'Content' tab are inserted into the design with a list.

Lists behave like layouts in that they are inserted into the design with layout selectors.

Selecting a List in the Design

The easiest way to select a list via the 'Design' tab is to:

1.  In the preview, select the item that is being inserted by the list you want to edit. For example, if you want to edit the product list, select a product in the preview.

2.  Go up to the 'parent item' either with the 'up arrow' within the preview, or by clicking the  button on the toolbar underneath the layout code.

3.  Check the title bar of the layout code panel. You should have the word 'List' somewhere in the title.

The layout code of a list will generally just contain the layout selector(s) for the layouts that are being inserted by this list. To edit the code of the list itself, click the 'List Layout Settings' button underneath the layout code or click one of the 'List Layout Settings' links that are at the beginning and the end of the code.
