The 'Colour Scheme' tab within 'Design| Themes (Advanced Theme Configuration)' is used to apply a colour scheme to the design of your store.
The list on the left lists all the system colour schemes that are available to choose from. You cannot delete or edit system colour schemes. You can make changes, but then these have to be saved as a new scheme.
A preview is available underneath the list to give you an idea of how the colour scheme might look with your current design.
To edit a colour scheme, edit the colour fields in the window. You can pick a standard colour from the drop-down or go down to 'Custom.' at the bottom of the drop-down in order to create your own colour with a standard Windows colour selector.
