'Design | Design Options' is used to set a few default settings for the whole site.
Further information about the shopping mode is available in Changing The Shopping Mode.
Field |
Meaning |
Quantity on Product Page |
Select this if you want the shopper to enter the quantity (and other prompts) before pressing the 'Add To Cart' button. |
Quantity on Confirmation Page |
Select this if you want the shopper to enter the quantity (and other prompts) on a separate page after pressing the 'Add To Cart' button. |
Quantity on Shopping Cart |
Select this if you want the shopper to enter the quantity (and other prompts) within the shopping cart after pressing the 'Add To Cart' button. |
Single Add to Cart Button Per Page |
If you are using the 'Quantity on Product Page' shopping mode, then you can select this option. This removes the 'Add to Cart' button for individual products, and has one button for the entire page. |
Bounce Page Delay |
This controls how long a customer sees the shopping cart before being returned to the store page. If you set this to '0', then as soon as you add a product to the cart, you will be shown an editable shopping cart. |
These are a collection of settings that affect how Actinic generates the pages in your store.
Field |
Meaning |
Generate CGI Templates |
If this field is selected, then the templates used by the CGI scripts (e.g. search results/shopping cart/checkout) are maintained by Actinic. When de-selected, Actinic will no longer maintain the CGI template pages. You are then responsible for these pages. |
Generate HTML and Search Files |
Select this box if the store pages are to be maintained by Actinic. When de-selected, Actinic does not automatically generate the store pages (front page, section pages, info page, and search page). You are then responsible for these pages. |
Suppress Generation Warnings |
Any problems when generating the online store prior to uploading it to the web site are normally displayed in a window. Sometimes these problems are benign and don't need to be fixed. If the same 'problems' are invoked every time, such as a missing variable which you know to be OK, then this box can suppress the display of the problems. |
Compact HTML/CGI |
Select this box to remove comments and superfluous spaces from the generated HTML and Perl scripts. The savings on upload time and browser navigation times are increased as your online store grows. If you de-select this box then you will be able to see comments about which layout generated which section of the page. |
This area contains settings about how your store will interact with any frames that you might be using.
Field |
Description |
Retain Custom Frame when Navigating to Catalog |
Selecting this box will ensure that when your customers navigate from your brochure pages (see What Are Brochure Pages?) to your store pages, any frames that are present will not be affected. |
No Frames in Checkout |
You can opt to use frames but have a full page display for the check out pages by selecting this box. It's a very good idea to select this box if you are using frames, especially if you are using a Payment Service Provider. |
URL for Completed and Aborted Checkout |
Enter a URL in this field for the address to take customers to when they click either 'Done' or 'Cancel' in the checkout pages. |
