The master list of locations within Actinic is held in 'Settings | Locations'. The areas within the online store that use this location information are:
· Tax calculation - the 'Advanced' tax mode applies tax to an order based on where the customers states they are from. See Setting Up Tax for more.
· Shipping calculation - you can calculate shipping charges online based on where the order will be sent to. See Zones and Classes for more.
· Payment method restriction - you can restrict certain payment methods to certain geographical areas. See Protecting Yourself Against Fraud for more.
Within 'Settings | Locations', you can edit the countries in the list by editing the settings. If a selected country has states, provinces or other regional areas, they will be displayed in the right hand window.
If you want to add a new country or state to the lists then click the '+' at the top-left of the grid.

A capital letter is represented by @ A number is represented by # A hyphen/dash is represented by - Space is made by pressing the keyboard <Spacebar> To separate the patterns of a country the | sign is used. A-Z are interpreted literally for codes which demand a specific letter (e.g. A #### (Austria) FIN ### (Finland). |
The single arrows move a country/state up or down one position; the arrow with a line top or bottom moves the country/state to the top or bottom of the list.
You should only delete countries, states or provinces if you are sure you will never need them, or if there is a name change. Click the arrow button on the Country field, right click and select 'Delete Row'.
Note: Only regions referenced by tax, shipping and payment method zones will be shown to your customers.
Click the 'Create Sub-District' button to create a sub-district within a state/province.
Give each sub-district a Name and a Code. And click 'OK'. These sub-districts will be listed alongside the existing states/provinces in all the standard location lists in Actinic, and they will be displayed in the following format:
