If you have created attributes and choices within a component, then the options in the 'Layout' tab can have a dramatic affect on the appearance of the options in the online store.
The effect of the layout options are described below:
Layout |
Description |
Standard Component Layout |
The component name (if shown) is at the top and then the attributes within the component are listed underneath it one after the other. No pricing information about the attributes is included into the design. |
Component Layout With Attributes And Price Grid |
As above, but this one also includes a grid that lists the different options together with their prices. |
Component Layout With Selectable Permutations |
This is only suitable if you have a single attribute within a component. It will list all the choices as normal (within a drop down list) but it will include the choice prices next to the options in the list. |
The 'Retail Price Layout' within the 'Layout' tab of a component is used to format the prices that appear in the grid/drop down lists.
You have a choice between a basic price or an additional price (which just includes a '+' before the price.
You can also decide whether to display the price within brackets, and whether you want to include a tax message.
Note: Permutations are only able to show retail prices - they cannot show customer group prices (if you are using them).
Note: Prices within a drop down list will always be shown excluding tax - and the tax setting you have set within the 'Price Layout' field of the product/section will be ignored. However, the 'Advanced User Guide' contains a workaround for showing permutation prices including tax. See Further Ways To Get Help for more details.
